Experienced Controller

CCI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller in St. Louis to join our dynamic, fast-paced professional services firm and help take us to the next level. There is growth potential to the Chief Financial Officer position within the next 3-5 years based on demonstrated work performance.

The position is a combination of detailed, task-oriented work and strategic vision. One of the exciting aspects of this position is the opportunity to work daily with all levels of the organization while accomplishing a variety of goals.

Reporting to the CFO, the responsibilities of the Controller are as follows:

Systems Implementation - We are finalizing the selection of new software for our company-wide accounting, project management and client relationship system and simultaneously evaluating the effectiveness of our internal processes. The Controller will play a major role in redefining processes and implementing the new system during 2023 and early 2024. This role will also be responsible for ongoing collaboration with CCI departments to continually assess the effectiveness of our internal processes.

Reporting - Develop, prepare, review, and/or analyze company data to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reporting. Responsible for the review and accuracy of information distributed by the accounting group (3 project accountants and 1 accounting manager).

Budgeting and Forecasting - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to accurately budget/forecast revenues, expenses, and profit at division and company level.

Insurance - Responsible for the annual company insurance renewal (application and liaison with company brokers) and CCI's subject matter expert.

Compliance - Assist the CFO to ensure compliance with 401k regulations, tax laws (we have an outside company prepare tax filings), government contracting standards, internal practices, and procedures, etc.

Required Skills & Experiences

• Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the CCI team and clients/vendors;
• Ability to think "outside the box'' and develop creative solutions;
• Ability to handle confidential information;
• Strong excel skills. Ability to organize and understand various types of data;
• Highly organized and can manage multiple priorities;
• Ability to use judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties by working independently and with a team;
• Must be proficient in all levels of accounting;
• Prior professional service firm experience; and
• CPA and public accounting, a plus.
